So here is the story.....
My front seat has felt a little loose for a few months. Nothing major I thought, its just getting old, and im not getting any lighter. Its had a weird lean to the right. Its just getting old I thought - and I need to stop leaning on my door.
Today while heading home I stopped at the lights, and the seat lent back a bit further than normal. This isnt right I thought, Ill have to check the bolts when I get home.
I arrive home. scroll the seat all the way back, and lift it up at the front. Sure enough the seat has seperated from the floor. Thats ok I thought, Ill just put the bolt back in. Look at the bolt and no, the bolt hasnt fallen out, it has broken the weld that holds the seat to the frame.
I should check the other side out I thought, and as I move the seat again - SNAP - and that side breaks off also.
So the end of this story is I now have a drivers seat held on by two rear supports, and two broken front ones. Has this happened to anyone before?
It kind of looks like someone may be able to weld a new support to the front and fix it up that way, otherwise I have to find a new seat somewhere in tasmania. Are these safe to be taken out by the backyard DIY? Or does the airbag make it risky.
